This is a documentation subpage for Template:Inappropriate person. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original Template page. |
[[Category:Template documentation pages{{#translation:}}]]
This template should not be substituted. |
Usage
This template is added to indicate that an article or section is written in first-person or second-person. See WP:PRONOUNS.
This template has three optional fields:
- article or section,
- i, we, first-person (for both we and I), you, or second-person (same as "you"), and
- an adverb (like inappropriately or excessively).
For instance, {{inappropriate person|section|i|excessively}}
results in:
This section uses first-person (I) excessively. |
Leaving the arguments undefined is acceptable; the template will show the default text listed on this page.
Alternative
If the problem is correctable with the skills you already possess, consider being bold and fixing it yourself, rather than applying this tag and leaving it for someone else to clean up.
Notes
This template will add tagged articles to dated subcategories of Category:CAPipediaarticles with style issues by month, Category:All articles with style issues, and Category:CAPipediaarticles needing copy edit.
This template is a self-reference.
Shortcuts
{{you|article}}
for{{inappropriate person|article|second-person|inappropriately}}
; or simply{{you}}
for the default.
