Background

This page will serve as a point of reference for proposed best practices for flight/squadron Local Area Networks (LANs). The information set forth is not a requirement, but rather guidelines and industry best practices.

Security

For wireless networks (WLANs), where possible RADIUS should be used in conjunction with WPA2 (or WPA3) encryption. If RADIUS services are unavailable, it is advised to use WPA2-AES with Pre-Shared Key (PSK), of a highly-complex nature - greater than 12-characters, alpha-numeric, with symbols.
