This is a variant of {{tl|when}} to display the message "until when?" instead of simply "when?". This is useful for situations when the past tense or other language is used to indicate that something has ceased to be the case and, while there may be some time context for the statement (e.g. a starting date), there is no indication of the ending date.<br />
