==Required parameters==

{{tl|Erratum}} requires an identifier link to the errata: {{para|bibcode}} (for [[bibcode]]s), {{para|doi}} (for [[digital object identifiers|DOI]]s), {{para|pmc}} (for [[PMCID|PMCID]]s), and {{para|pmid}} (for [[PubMed Identifier|PMID]]s) are supported.

Failing that, {{tlx|Erratum|https://...}} is also supported for a [[URL|generic web link]].

This template is used to mark citations with [[errata]]/[[corrigenda]].
Using

gives

If the errata does not affect the relevant material (e.g. a correction to author names and affiliated, a correction that affects a passage unrelated to the material supported by the citation), then use
*<code><nowiki>{{erratum|doi=10.1234/0123456789|checked=yes}}</nowiki></code>
which gives

If the errata affects the relevant material, then update the article accordingly before marking the erratum as checked.
The template works with citation templates too, for example

Do not use this template in the fields of citation templates such as {{cs1}} and {{cs2}}, as the HTML markup will be rendered in the metadata for that field.

==Cleanup and tracking categories==

Pages containing this template will be placed in the category [[:Category:Articles citing publications with errata]]. Pages containing unchecked errata will instead be placed in [[:Category:Articles unintentionally citing publications with errata]]. Ideally this last category should be empty.
